Greenways was founded by Anna Mercer. Originally from the UK, Anna has spent the past 25 years living and working in Australia in the 'people' industry.
Following the pandemic, when the worlds of work and life had well and truly combined, Anna found that her priorities had shifted but so had those of many others. More time with family and a healthier and higher quality of life were a priority. Additionally, finding purpose and connection in work was increasingly important to many but sometimes hard to achieve in the new world of hybrid and remote working.
Working in the field of executive search, she identified a stronger need for organisations to ensure current and potential employees felt connected to the company strategy, purpose and values in order for them to attract and retain high-performers. Additionally, to succeed in a world where many individuals and teams were physically and geographically dispersed, modern leaders required the skills to create that strong sense of belonging and connection.
Anna’s vision was to create an organisation that could build long-term strategic partnerships with its clients, working together to address these evolving needs.
And so Greenways was born.
"When I established Greenways, I wanted my business name to be personal and to embody the purpose of the company.
‘Greenways’ was the name of the house I grew up in, my childhood home.
It’s where my values were formed and it’s where I learnt what it means to have a strong sense of belonging and purpose and how important it is to have a stable, safe and happy environment in which to thrive.
‘Greenways’ are also corridors of land that connect people and communities. They create economic value and enhance culture & identity. For me, this is what great leaders in any organisation do."
